JIMA Japan Inspction Instruments Manufacturers’ show

Spectrum Logic exhibited at JIMA 2024 in Tokyo, Japan (18-20 September)

August 15, 2024

Spectrum Logic exhibited at the 12th Japan Inspection Instruments Manufacturers' Show (JIMA) at Tokyo Big Sight 18th-20th September.  This exhibition is organised by the Japan Inspection Instruments Manufacturers' Association, is the leading exhibition for industrial NDT and AXI in Japan.  It features key players in the X-ray inspection industry showcasing the latest advances in X-ray technology and other inspection methods.

Spectrum Logic showcased its dynamic, high-speed, high-resolution CMOS X-ray detector portfolio and introduced a number of new products at JIMA 2024.  All of our detectors employ state-of-the-art high performance CMOS sensors with 14-bit or 16-bit digital outputs.  The sensors feature two gain modes: a high dynamic mode and a high sensitivity mode, perfect for low-dose, high speed imaging. The sensors are permanently bonded to fiber optic plates (FOP), which enhances image quality and increases the device's radiation tolerance.

New Models Launched at JIMA

2812HS for CT and AXI

2812HS for CT and AXI

2812HS for CT and AXI.  The 2812HS is a dynamic X-ray detector designed specifically for NDT and CT applications, with a pixel pitch of 100 μm and high-resolution CsI or Gadox scintillator. The detector housing is equipped with lead shielding to protect against radiation damage. It delivers 116 fps at a full resolution of 2803 x 1200 pixels using 10 GigE and has 14-bit ADCs.

2812HR CMOS X-ray detector for pipe weld inspection and microfocus CT

2812HR-N for pipe weld inspection

2812HR-N for pipe weld inspection and microfocus CT. The 2812HR-N is a dynamic X-ray detector designed specifically for NDT pipe inspection applications, with a pixel pitch of 50 μm and high-resolution CsI or Gadox scintillator.  The detector is housed in a waterproof enclosure offering IP65 rating. The slim shaped model has been designed to fit inside 7” pipe. It can be readout out in full resolution at 29 fps and has 14-bit ADCs. Region of interest modes offer higher frame rates.

1515HE for CT and AXI

1615HE for CT and AXI

1615HE for CT and AXI. The 1615HE is a dynamic X-ray detector designed specifically for electronics inspection, industrial NDT and scientific applications, with a pixel pitch of 75 μm and high-sensitivity or high efficiency CsI scintillator options. The innovative sensor design enables a frame rate of  80 fps using 10 GigE. It has a new programable ADC design that can operate at 14 or 16-bit. This detector does not require external shielding when used in high-speed, high-precision 3D-CT-AXI X-ray inspection systems.

Water cooled 2824HR/HS CMOS X-ray detectors

Water-cooled 2824HR/2824HS

Water-cooled 2824HR/2824HS. Spectrum Logic has now released water-cooled versions of the 2824HR and 2824HS to further improve their market leading performance. These models are high speed, low noise CMOS X-ray detectors using a 10 GigE interface with 50 µm and 100 µm pixel pitch respectively and an active area of 280 x 240 mm2. Cooling  improves image quality in applications that require long exposure times, for example high resolution microfocus CT.
